Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM) Academies are rigorous secondary schools focusing on improving instruction and academic performance in science and mathematics-related subjects and increasing the number of students who study and enter STEM careers. T-STEM Academies are demonstration schools and learning labs that develop innovative methods to improve science and mathematics instructions.
Energized for STEM Academy, Incorporated was founded by Mrs. Lois Bullock on the premise that it is the right of every student, regardless of their economic background, to have equal opportunity and equal access to a high-quality education. The school offers a solid STEM-based educational foundation to enable students to successfully compete in the global workforce.
Energized for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Academy, Incorporated opened its first campus in the fall of 2008 with the goal of aligning high school, college, and business-based activities across STEM areas within the broader school curriculum. It is a Houston Independent School District (HISD) tuition-free, premier college-preparatory charter school geared toward STEM-ulating the left and right brain of students in sixth through twelfth grade. Of the 279 schools in the HISD system, Energized for STEM Academy, Inc. was the first school in the district to be recognized as an approved T-STEM Academy.
